Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Integrator to lead the integration of avionics with subsystems on the Crewed Lander. You will work across disciplines, guide interface definitions, and support architecture studies and verification.

You will engage with NASA and partners in the Human Landing System program, applying detailed analysis, risk management, and change control to ensure safe, high-quality spaceflight hardware. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, CS, or related field.
• 12+ years in full avionics life cycle development (requirements, design, integration, test, operations).
• Experience integrating spacecraft subsystems (avionics, software, structures, power, etc.).
• Ability to define and manage communication protocols.
• Understanding of electrical interfaces (serial, video, ethernet, sensors).
• Strong systems engineering, integration processes, and safety-critical mindset.
• Excellent verbal/written/graphic communication; team-focused.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team you will work as an Avionics Integrator within the Avionics team on the Crewed Lander, focusing on the integration of one or more spacecraft subsystems. You will lead cross-functional trade studies, run integrated analyses, and define interfaces that impact the design and integration of the spacecraft. You should expect that this foundational part of our vision will require your excellent communication and teamwork. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of the vehicle avionics with peer subsystems working across disciplines, teams, and multiple stakeholders
• Act as the negotiator between multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests to optimize the spacecraft design.
• Contribute to or lead Avionics architecture studies, concept development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations support

• Manage Avionics requirements development, definition, and maturity
• Develop and manage Avionics physical, logical, and network configuration interface control documents (ICDs)
• Develop and maintain data and communication budgets
• Develop and maintain integrated electrical architecture diagrams.
• Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across multiple disciplines
• Contribute to or lead change management ensuring proper change impact assessment and coordination of design changes and their impacts across subsystems
• Coordinate sensor selection and end-to-end sensor error analysis.
• Identify, assess, and manage program risks (technical, schedule, cost, integration)
• Tool development for maintaining vehicle electrical configuration and definition.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject area
• 12+ years relevant experience in the full life cycle development of avionics systems, including requirements, design, integration, test, and operations.
• Deep experience in integrating spacecraft or high criticality aerospace subsystems - Avionics, Software, Structures, GNC, power system, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to define and manage communication protocols
• Demonstrated functional understanding of common electrical digital and analog interfaces (e.g. Serial Bus Communications, Video, Audio, Ethernet, Analog Sensors, etc.)
• Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems
• Strong ability and desire to analyze complex systems and deliver results-oriented solutions
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45CO applicants is $144,179.00 - $201,849.90WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45
