Job summary

Insight Global seeks an experienced Avionics Engineer to design, integrate, and test avionics for lunar landers and spaceflight programs. You will coordinate flight computers, power, comms, navigation hardware, and harnessing to ensure mission readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years avionics engineering experience, or 4+ years of directly related systems integration experience.
  • Experience with spacecraft, aerospace, or flight vehicle avionics design, integration, and testing.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, battery systems, power distribution, and flight harnessing.
  • Proficiency with electrical design and simulation tools such as Altium and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with NASA or aerospace industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate spacecraft avionics systems, including flight computers, power distribution, communications, and navigation hardware.
  • Create and manage flight harness designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, and test engineers to define requirements and ensure subsystem compatibility.
  • Support system integration, verification, and environmental testing, including thermal, vibration, and functional testing.
  • Perform electrical analysis, troubleshoot hardware issues, and implement design improvements.
  • Analyze test results and support validation activities to ensure mission readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and spaceflight standards, including NASA requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, design records, and test reports.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to support the design, integration, and testing of avionics systems for lunar landers, lunar terrain vehicles, and other spaceflight programs. This role is responsible for system-level integration of flight computers, power systems, communications hardware, navigation systems, and flight harnessing to ensure reliable spacecraft performance.

Key Responsibilities
