Job summary

Textron – Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to ensure the proper function of aircraft electrical, electronic and instrumentation systems.

You will fabricate, install and test components, lay out tubing for instrumentation, and may work on communications equipment at fixed or mobile bases. Requires 4 years of avionics experience within the last decade and completion of an electronics curriculum or equivalent military electronics coursework.

Qualifications

• 4 years of aircraft electronics (avionics) experience within the last 10 years.
• Experience troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of aircraft communication, navigation or fire control weapons system components.
• Completion of an accredited electronics curriculum (18–24 months) or a military Electronics/Avionics course within the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper functioning of aircraft electrical, electronic, communication, navigation, flight instruments and instrumentation systems.
• Fabricates, constructs, installs, tests, adjusts, maintains, repairs or replaces components, panels or sections of the above systems.
• Lays out and installs tubing systems for instrumentation work.
• May install and maintain communications equipment at fixed base or mobile sites.
• Conducts in-flight tests as necessary.
• Complies with ITAR government regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing As a Electronics Mechanic

• Performs a wide variety of duties necessary to assure the proper functioning of aircraft electrical, electronic, communication, navigation, flight instruments and instrumentation systems or packages.
• Fabricates, constructs, installs, tests, adjusts, maintains, repairs or replaces any components, panels or sections of the above systems or packages.
• Lays out and installs a variety of tubing and /or tubing systems for instrumentation work.
• May be assigned to install, adjust, and maintain control tower or other fixed base or mobile communications equipment.
• Makes “in flight tests” as necessary.
• Must obtain any additional licenses or permits required by the government to meet government regulations.

Skills You Bring To This Role

Radio repair and electrician’s hand tools, flaring tools, tube cutters and tubing installation tools.

Various types of power tools and hand tools necessary to perform required work.

Qualifications

Experience & Other Requirements: Four (4) years of aircraft electronics (avionics) experience within the last ten (10) years.

• Such experience must have involved the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of aircraft communication, navigation or fire control weapons system components.

Successful completion of an 18-to-24-month accredited curriculum in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Technology within the last 10 years or successful completion of a military Electronics/Avionics course at least 8 months in length within the last 10 years.
