Piper Aircraft Inc. is seeking an Avionics Electrical Technician II on 1st shift for full-time work in Florida. The role focuses on building complex avionics and electrical harness assemblies, inspecting teammates work, and supporting continuous improvement under Piper procedures.

You will train and mentor others, adhere to safety and PPE rules, and assist in meeting production schedules while following Piper drawings and PPS instructions.

Avionics Electrical Technician II - 1st shift (Full Time)
Department: All Openings

Assists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts & subassemblies following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.

Essential Job Functions

• Build complex and custom avionics or electrical harness assemblies
• Perform assembly of complex service parts
• May be required to plan and construct complex electrical/ electronic harness build-up boards.
• Inspect and buy off other teammates work using Piper inspection certifications.
• Conduct training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
• Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
• Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
• Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.

Career Path Minimum Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Related avionics electrical experience requirements:
  • Avionics Electrical Technician I: 2 years of experience
  • Avionics Electrical Technician II: 2 5 years of experience
  • Senior Avionics Electrical Technician: 5 years of experience
• Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Use of hand and power tools as required
• Follow all safety procedures
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions

Physical Demands

Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out, and below.

Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions need to be controlled. Working Conditions

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.

Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.
