  • Willingness to use AVID methods and participate in required training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person tutorial sessions that underscore collaborative learning and peer teaching.
  • Determine focus concepts from student worksheets, notes, and discussions.
  • Guide students toward active learning while promoting independent thinking.
  • Assist students in any subject area with AVID classroom resources.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student work, online or in person.
  • Support AVID scholars through care and connection.
  • Maintain a positive tone and atmosphere in the AVID classroom.
  • Assist the AVID coordinator with tasks such as communicating with teachers and arranging schedules.
  • Communicate regularly with the AVID coordinator/teacher about progress and concerns.
  • Model personal excellence and set high expectations for AVID students.
