Job summary

Charter Schools USA in Florida seeks an AVID Teacher to implement the AVID framework, support college and career readiness, and promote rigorous instruction across classrooms. You will help address student achievement and ensure AVID practices address diverse learner needs.

You will collaborate with counselors, teachers, and school leaders, use data to monitor progress, and advocate for equitable access to advanced coursework in a high-need environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Valid Florida Department of Education license or ability to obtain one with a secondary (6-12) endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AVID students, families, counselors, coordinators, school leadership, and teachers to improve instruction and school culture.
• Use data to inform instruction and monitor AVID student progress.
• Recruit students for the AVID Elective and conduct site interviews with the team.
• Promote AVID strategies and ensure access to rigorous courses for AVID students.
• Attend professional development opportunities to increase AVID knowledge and systems of support.
