Corpus Christi Independent School District is seeking mentors to assist designated students in academic subjects under the guidance of a principal or AVID coordinator. Responsibilities include providing tutorial support, motivating students towards high academic achievement, and serving as positive role models. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and a high school diploma or GED.
The position is funded through a Federal Grant and offers $14.00 per hour for 187 days of work.
Level 2 (Applied)
Under the general supervision of a principal or designee and the district AVID coordinator, mentors assist identified students in academic subjects. The goal of mentoring is to develop habits of mind and higher standards of academic achievement among students, in turn, increasing their postsecondary educational options upon high school graduation.
This is a position that is funded totally by funds provided to CCISD through a Federal Grant. The selected applicant will be required to acknowledge that there is a possibility that their employment will be terminated if the funds are no longer available, or if CCISD redirects the funds to another function in order to better serve the best interest of the District.
