Job summary

IronMountain Solutions is seeking a hands-on Aviation Test Engineer to support the Aviation Mission Systems and Architecture Project Office in Huntsville, AL. You will execute Test & Evaluation activities, lead risk reduction events, and partner with contractors and laboratories to verify airworthiness and mission readiness for rotary-wing platforms.

The role focuses on on-site testing, IPTs, TRRs, and producing test documentation such as TEMP and flight test cards, while working with flight

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience planning and executing aviation test events (flight, ground, SIL).
• Knowledge of airworthiness processes for avionics software/hardware and system qualification.
• Experience applying systems engineering to assess and verify requirements during live or lab testing.
• Ability to collaborate with senior staff to resolve test anomalies.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Capacity to manage multiple test events in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies and witness test events across programs.
• Provide on-site support for aviation test events (SIL, flight, ground, environmental).
• Lead IPTs, TRRs, and system design reviews.
• Contribute to test plans, TEMP, flight test cards, and related docs.
• Collaborate with flight test crews and instrumentation for safe testing.
• Generate technical reports and conclusions from empirical data.
• Support airworthiness qualification processes with test result verification.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies to protect schedule and budget.
• Support company growth as directed.
