Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. seeks an adjunct instructor to teach Aviation Systems Technology courses at Guilford Technical Community College.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, employing varied teaching strategies, and integrating technology in classroom and lab environments. Qualifications include an associate degree in Aviation Systems or Aviation Technology and FAA A&P certificates; a bachelor's degree is preferred, with three+ years aviation industry experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Aviation Systems or Aviation Technology from an accredited college/university.
• FAA Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation (preferred).
• Non-Destructive Testing and Composite Repair Certification (preferred).
• Three years documented experience in the aviation industry.
• Post-secondary teaching experience and/or industry training experience (preferred).
• Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes (preferred).
• Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach departmental courses with learner-centered lesson plans.
• Use diverse teaching strategies and instructional materials for different learning styles.
• Integrate current technology in classroom, distance learning and labs.
• Create a quality learning environment for a diverse student population.
• Distribute and utilize instructional materials such as syllabi and media.
• Assess student learning outcomes in courses and programs/general education.
