Qualifications

• High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent required.
• U.S. citizen is required.
• 18 years of age or older required.
• Previous experience in security, military, or customer service preferred.
• Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to read identification badges, credentials and labels on bottles, etc.
• Must be able to open/close latches, search bags and reach all sides of a bag.
• Capable of hearing alarms and responding to voice commands.
• Must have manual dexterity for screening tasks.
• May be exposed to hazards during investigations; follow safety protocols.
• Must be able to verbally respond in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform security screening to prevent weapons or dangerous items from entering the air transportation system.
• Interact courteously with colleagues and clients; participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Communicate safety hazards and equipment issues to supervisors.
• Conduct physical searches and take appropriate action on detections.
• Notify Law Enforcement or Security Coordinators as required.
• Maintain control of items until the LE0 arrives and document incidents.
• Keep work area clean and report maintenance needs.
• Attend meetings and training; maintain records and files.
