Job summary

Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. You will operate both in the air and on the ground, carrying firearms and maintaining readiness for rapid, high‑pressure decisions.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor's degree (or combo) may qualify.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytic, and advisory activities.
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects as needed.
• Make arrests and execute warrants within legal authority.
• Participate in multi‑agency operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Support ground-based transportation-security and counterterrorism missions.
• Perform other specialized assignments, including Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations.
