Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration in Shelby conducts inspections and security program reviews to ensure aviation facilities comply with federal requirements. This role combines field investigations, regulatory research, and detailed reporting to identify vulnerabilities and drive corrective actions.

You will work with airport authorities, airlines, and law enforcement to apply standards, prepare thorough findings, and support enforcement where needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
• Must successfully complete the required background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain the security clearance specified in the vacancy.
• May be required to pass pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be available for travel, including occasional overnight assignments.
• Must complete required Transportation Security Inspector training.
• May work nonstandard hours during inspections or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, security assessments, and regulatory-compliance reviews.
• Evaluate airport, airline, and air-cargo security programs and procedures.
• Inspect security processes, records, systems, facilities, and equipment.
• Identify vulnerabilities, compliance concerns, and deviations from standards.
• Review documents and collect information related to inspections or investigations.
• Prepare detailed reports that explain findings, supporting evidence, and follow-up.
• Provide regulatory guidance to airport authorities, air carriers, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with TSA personnel and law-enforcement agencies.
• Respond to security incidents and emerging transportation threats.
• Participate in approved security tests and vulnerability assessments.
