Job summary

Salt Lake Community College invites applications for an adjunct aviation instructor to teach Airframe and Powerplant courses at the college level. Responsibilities include delivering FAA-approved curriculum, labs, and maintaining safety and academic standards.

Qualifications

  • FAA Part 91/121/135 flight regulations knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Structures, Systems and Powerplants.
  • Ability to teach basic maintenance skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching at the college level preferred.
  • Ability to relate pedagogy to diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach Aviation Department classes using clear written and verbal communication.
  • Follow industry, government, and manufacturers maintenance practices in labs.
  • Assess and maintain student performance records.
  • Deliver lectures and classroom activities following the curriculum.
  • Support department assessment initiatives.
  • Coordinate ADA accommodation requests per college policy.
  • Provide feedback on student progress.
  • Meet deadlines and submit final grades on time.
  • Maintain professional etiquette and adhere to college policies.
  • Complete required trainings and FERPA compliance.
  • Administer ADA accommodations as needed.
