Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite contract-to-hire role in Overland Park, KS. You will design and execute automated and manual test plans to validate ground-based radio navigation systems, using C, C++, Python, and MATLAB, in a highly regulated aviation environment.

Work with hardware, FPGA, and manufacturing teams to verify DO-278 compliance, develop robust test procedures, and optimize production testing.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering or computer science degree required.
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++, and MATLAB for test automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and detailed test documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system-level test plans and procedures.
• Develop automated tests to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Perform manual system-level testing to validate behavior and performance.
• Use lab equipment to measure and analyze signal and system parameters.
• Conduct integration testing across hardware, software, and FPGA elements.
• Diagnose root causes of faults and testing issues with systematic analysis.
• Execute V&V activities to verify DO-278 compliance and other standards.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing test procedures for quality.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, FPGA, and manufacturing teams.
• Adapt testing strategies to evolving aviation technologies and standards.
