Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking an Aviation Designer in Kansas to support aviation projects across our offices. You will perform models, analyses and designs, coordinate drafting, and help prepare plans and cost estimates for multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in aviation design and is an EIT or pursuing licensure. Strong team collaboration, communication, and field inspection willingness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
• The position may include field inspection and travel to project sites.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Detail oriented and organized, thrives under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and support calculations/documentation.
• Coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients.
• Prepare multiple design projects at one time.
• Begin to take ownership of all deliverables.
• Understand and apply design standards/codes.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives for aviation group growth.
