Job summary

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, owned by the City of Austin and operated by the Department of Aviation, seeks an IT Data Architect to design and manage data pipelines that enable analytics and ML across IT and business units.

You will collaborate with data analysts to build scalable, production-ready data infrastructure, ETL processes, and governance to support reporting and decision-making in a dynamic public-sector environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or a related field and 5 years of experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
• Education or experience may substitute up to 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and managing data pipelines to support value creation, growth, and delivery of IT results.
• Design and implement the data and analysis infrastructure, including complex databases.
• Assist in developing tools/services for large-scale machine learning solutions.
• Work with Data Analysts and others to develop scalable, production-ready analytics and supporting software.
• Maintain data management systems and data pipelines that combine core data sources into warehouses or other structures for reporting.
• Document models, solutions, and implementations (Data Mapping, Technical Specifications, Data Dictionaries, Test Cases).
• Create ETL processes (SQL stored procedures, etc.) to support complex business systems and data flows.
