Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Tampa, FL is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern to support experienced staff in designing and producing plans for airport and airport-related civil projects, including runways, taxiways and associated infrastructure.

You will receive mentorship, contribute to airfield design tasks, perform field observations, assist with quantity take-offs, and gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D while developing professional engineering skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• 0–2 years internship experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

Responsibilities

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern to join our Tampa, FL office.

Your role

• Receive mentorship to assist experienced engineering staff in the design and production of engineering plans and specifications for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure.
• Contribute to various elements of airfield geometric design, pavement design, airport lighting, and construction administration tasks for commercial service and general aviation airports.
• Periodically perform construction field observations at aviation project sites and attend weekly construction meetings.
• Assist with project quantity take-offs.

About you

• EXPERIENCE: 0 – 2 years of internship experience
• EDUCATION: Pursuing your Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
