Job description
* Perform detailed engineering calculations using advanced software to support analysis and design efforts.* Prepare and coordinate aviation civil construction documents—including drawings, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and implementable schedules—in accordance with industry standards and best practices.* Conduct site investigations and field reconnaissance to collect existing physical data to promote informed design decisions.* Collaborate with senior engineering staff on complex technical challenges and project solutions.* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers and engineers.* Coordinate with internal teams, external clients, and construction contractors to achieve project objectives.* Stay current with FAA criteria, emerging technologies, and industry regulations to improve deliverable quality and efficiency.* Support additional project-related tasks as assigned to meet client and project needs.* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.* Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and the ability to acquire additional registration in the State of the office assigned, through comity, within six (6) months.* Minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering project experience.* Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D – including modeling* Experience using design tools relevant to aviation and civil site infrastructure.* Working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and applicable aviation design standards and airspace considerations* Practical knowledge of drainage calculations and related design standards.* Proficiency with airfield lighting and navigational aid layout, and fundamental knowledge of electrical features.* Ability to produce accurate, high-quality engineering drawings and construction documents within assigned timelines and established budgets.* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Public speaking experience is a plus.* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and dynamic project environments.* Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple technical challenges and deadlines.* Experience with or exposure to interfacing with the Federal Aviation Administration and/or a State Aviation or Aeronautic Office.
