Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring an Assembly Technician in Kinston, NC to perform hands-on aircraft production assembly and related tasks. You will read blueprints and specifications to build, install, inspect, modify, and test components and assemblies.

The position requires aviation production experience, use of drilling and torquing tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Training will include health and safety, aircraft familiarization, and quality programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or successful WorkKeys Assessment.
• Minimum 2 years of aviation production experience or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency using hand and production tools.
• Experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools.
• Knowledge of workstation safety, quality practices, Foreign Object Debris requirements, and OSHA regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
• Post-recruitment training including Health & Safety, general aircraft familiarization, and quality training.

Responsibilities

• Perform production assembly operations on mechanical and/or electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
• Assemble and install parts using blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Set up and perform manual and automated assembly operations and portable machine functions.
• Perform structural assembly processes including drilling, countersinking, sealing, fastener installation, torquing, varnishing, and painting.
• Use hand and power tools, jigs, templates, and other production tools.
• Verify work with precision measuring instruments to meet specifications.
• Complete continuity checks and quality inspections on in-process and final assemblies.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies as required.
• Train to MVP qualification and complete additional training/certification.
