Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's Aviation – Buffalo Niagara Intl Airport is seeking an Assistant Fire Chief for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting to supervise daily operations and coordinate emergency and non-emergency responses. The role requires NYS certifications, a high school diploma, and ARFF experience; you will lead training, prepare reports, and manage inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and five years ARFF firefighting experience.
• Fire Instructor 1 Certification required within 1 year.
• Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification required.
• Fire Officer I-III and Instructor II preferred.
• Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s license and NYS EMT Certification.
• Must obtain SIDA badge/US CBP seal.

Responsibilities

• Supervises subordinates.
• Conducts training classes.
• Compiles and maintains personnel records and evaluates officers.
• Schedules all fire and safety inspections.
• Acts as on-scene commander during emergencies until relieved by a higher-ranking officer.
• Uses computer aided incident management software during emergencies.
• Performs administrative duties and writes reports.
• Performs additional duties as required.
