Job summary

SMPL Systems in Nashville is seeking an experienced AV Lead Installation / Service Technician to lead installation teams and deliver high-quality AV deployments across client sites.

You will install, configure, test, and commission displays, audio, and control systems, read CAD drawings and BOMs, mentor on-site technicians, and coordinate daily tasks while ensuring safety and schedule. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial AV installation and service.
• Ability to lead and mentor installation teams.
• Proficient in reading CAD drawings and BOMs.
• Comfort with heights and travel to client sites.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

SMPL Systems is seeking an experienced AV Lead Installation / Service Technician to lead installation teams and deliver high-quality audio-visual system deployments.

This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

• Lead and mentor installation technicians on-site
• Prepare job materials and coordinate daily tasks
• Interpret CAD drawings, scope of work, and BOMs
• Install and configure AV systems (displays, audio, control systems, etc.)
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Maintain daily site reports with photos
• Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
• AV systems installation and service
• Cable termination and rack building
• DSP platforms (QSC, Biamp, Polycom)
• Control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Working at heights, rooftops, and tight spaces
• Travel to client locations as needed
• Experience in commercial AV installation/service
• Ability to lead and manage teams
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Comfortable with physical work and travel
• $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
• Rate is determined by experience and knowledge of AV systems
