Uber is launching AV Labs to accelerate the autonomous technology ecosystem. We're building out a high-velocity team of multi-disciplinary experts to turn real-world operations into high-quality data for our autonomous partners. This team is focused on the hardest problem in AV today: unlocking real-world, long-tail driving data. Autonomy is now a data race—and Uber has an edge: We collect rare, real-world driving data at a scale and capital efficiency no one else can match.
As anAV Fleet Technician, you will serve as a line-side floor captain and electromechanical escalation lead for our high-velocity Autonomous Vehicle (AV)data collection fleet. Operating directly on the depot floor, you will isolate complex hardware, electrical, and data-link faults across dense L4 perception stacks (LiDAR, Radar, Camera arrays, CAN/Automotive Ethernet), validate incoming data collection vehicle upfits from contract manufacturers, and direct third-party contractor teams to maintain peak fleet readiness. This role is ideal for a battle-tested vehicle or robotics lead who excels at physical root-cause triage, Linux-assisted diagnostics, sensor calibration, and hands-on floor execution.
