Job description

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About the Role:

Crusoe’s mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence, and that mission comes to life in the rooms where our teams collaborate, present, and make decisions every day.

As our AV Engineer, you’ll own the technology that powers those moments: designing, building, and standardizing the audio-visual experience across every Crusoe office, from intimate huddle rooms to large-scale All-Hands venues. You’ll define the AV standards the rest of the company builds against, get hands-on with Crestron programming for our most complex spaces, and serve as the AV lead for new site expansions as Crusoe continues to grow globally.

We’re looking for someone who thinks like a mountaineer about their craft: meticulous, safety-minded, and always planning several steps ahead, who moves fast to make things just work every time someone walks into a room and hits “Join.”

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Own, define, and document Crusoe’s enterprise-wide AV standards, including room schematics, signal flow diagrams, device inventories, and standard operating procedures, ensuring every room at every site is built to a consistent, high-quality bar.

  • Program, configure, and build out Crestron room configurations, with a focus on large-scale environments like All-Hands spaces and complex, multi-camera conference rooms.

  • Design and support room automation systems end to end, from scheduling panels and control processors to camera framing, audio DSP, and lighting integration.

  • Act as the AV lead for new office builds, planning and executing conference room and collaboration space build-outs at all new Crusoe sites.

  • Partner closely with low voltage contractors and external AV integration vendors, reviewing designs, cabling, and installations to ensure their work meets or exceeds Crusoe’s internal standards.

  • Design and implement every system with remote supportability as a first principle, so global sites can be monitored, diagnosed, and supported by the IT/AV team without requiring someone on site.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV incidents end to end across displays, audio, video conferencing, and control systems, documenting root cause and driving standards improvements.

  • Evaluate new AV technologies and vendors, making recommendations that balance user experience, reliability, and total cost of ownership.

What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • 5+ years of hands-on AV engineering, integration, or systems design experience.

  • Crestron programming experience required, with certification (e.g., Crestron Certified Programmer or DMC-E) strongly preferred, along with hands-on experience configuring NVX, DM, and control processors for large-format rooms.

  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of room automation and control platforms (Crestron, and ideally Extron or Q-SYS), including scheduling, camera automation, and one-touch join workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience leading AV planning and build-outs for new office or site expansions, including reading architectural and low-voltage drawings, with willingness to travel as needed.

  • Experience managing external vendors and holding low-voltage/AV integrators accountable to technical specifications and timelines.

  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, multicast) for AV-over-IP and remote device monitoring, along with familiarity with enterprise video conferencing platforms such as Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or Google Meet hardware.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to document standards clearly for a distributed, global team.

  • Ability to pass a background check.

Bonus Points
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

  • Experience programming or configuring QSC Q-SYS, Extron, or Biamp DSP systems.

  • Prior experience supporting AV or low-voltage systems in data center, industrial, or other critical-facility environments.

  • Experience building AV monitoring and alerting into a broader IT service management or NOC workflow.

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation and equity packages

  • Restricted Stock Units

  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs

  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance

  • Employer contributions to HSA account

  • Paid parental leave

  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability

  • Professional development & tuition reimbursement

  • Mental health & wellness support

  • Commuter benefits (parking & transit)

  • Cell phone stipend

  • 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary

  • Volunteer time off

  • Global travel insurance & emergency assistance

  • Daily meals allowance
