Job summary

Tangram Interiors seeks an AV Designer to create wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, calculations, and submittals for projects. You will support bidding, design, permitting and construction, and provide efficiency reviews or value engineering options.

Responsibilities include interpreting AV drawings, gathering requirements, creating control modules and DSP files, mentoring staff, commissioning tests, troubleshooting, and documenting end-user software. Travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Audio Visual Systems design.
• Experience on large-scale commercial projects is a plus.
• Proficient with uploading/downloading software in embedded systems.
• Strong ability to design control systems and interfaces.
• Excellent communication with clients and team members.

The AV Designer creates audio/visual wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, calculations, and submittals for projects. Act as a resource, providing technical assistance for projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction. Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret AV systems drawings.
• Gather programming requirements.
• Create new control modules, control code and user interfaces.
• Create new audio DSP files.
• Mentor associate programmers/commissioners.
• Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code.
• Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed.

Requirements:

• Proficient with test and calibration equipment and programing languages.
• Have at least 3-5 years’ experience with Audio Visual Systems design required; experience with large-scale commercial projects a plus.
• Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
• Proficient in control system design (Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC).
• Solid communication skills with employees, clients, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
• Analytical and risk assessment abilities.

• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems.
