Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an AV Design Engineer 3 to design and implement complex AV and integrated technology systems across high‑impact projects. You will architect end‑to‑end solutions, develop system drawings and BOMs, and ensure designs meet performance and stakeholder requirements.

The role involves collaboration with internal teams and clients, supporting system implementation, testing, and optimization while also contributing to technical leadership and mentoring within the engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related + 5+ years (or Master’s + 3+ years)
• Experience designing and implementing complex A/V systems (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, audio systems)
• Hands‑on experience with Crestron, AMX, and/or Extron control systems
• Ability to create CAD drawings and Bill of Materials (AutoCAD or similar)
• Experience with IP/networking and telecommunications systems
• Ability to gather requirements, perform site surveys, and support solution costing
• Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and electrical design plans
• Experience developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures
• Strong communication skills (working with stakeholders/executive leadership)
• Ability to obtain Top Secret DoD Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• Ability to travel up to 20%
• Experience with data center or virtual infrastructure technologies
• Familiarity with ISDN networks
• Experience with AV collaboration ecosystems and streaming technologies
• Prior experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers
• Advanced troubleshooting of integrated AV/network systems
• Experience delivering end-user and admin training

This candidate will play a key role in designing and engineering complex, large-scale AV and integrated technology systems across multiple high-impact projects.
