Job summary

Pixel Technologies is looking for a Design Engineer to support the account management team through the pre-sales process. This role involves delivering complete system designs, documentation, and acting as the technical subject matter expert.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of AV/IT system design experience and proficiency with design tools like Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, and Revit. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for collaborating with account managers and project delivery teams.

Job description

As a Design Engineer, you will support the account management team throughout the pre-sales process. You will be responsible for delivering complete system designs and associated documentation. This will include the Scope of Work, Bill of Materials, Labor Estimates, and High-Level System Sketches in accordance with company and departmental standards. You will also act as the technical subject matter expert for the account managers, and other departments as needed.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop system designs based on customer requirements and needs analysis
• Attend calls and/or site visits as technical subject matter expert with account manager
• Review pre-construction site design and architectural documentation
• Identify logistical requirements or challenges with executing proposed system design
• Develop design documentation for custom hardware
• Provide advanced engineering support to project delivery teams as required
• Attend manufacturer and industry training to remain up to date on technologies, trends, and design requirements

What We Are Looking For

Must-Haves

• Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated AV/IT system design experience
• Demonstrated IP network design/architecture experience
• Enterprise Video Teleconference and Unified Communications design experience
• First-hand experience configuring, programming, and supporting audio, video, and control systems
• Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines and delivery requirements
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Business and technical writing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam

Nice-to-Haves

• Formal education in electronics or related fields preferred
• AVIXA CTS-D and/or BICSI RCDD certifications
• Manufacturer audio, video, and control system certifications
