Corewell Health in Grand Rapids seeks a part-time Anatomic Pathology role to support pathologists in autopsy preparation, documentation, and evidence handling. Responsibilities include securing belongings, preparing bodies for autopsy, and assisting in dissection and organ weighing.

Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent, with preferred background in anatomy/physiology and morgue experience. Work environment is a morgue with exposure to hazardous conditions.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree or equivalent.
• Preferred science courses in anatomy and physiology.
• Preferred prior morgue experience assisting with autopsies.

Responsabilités

• Review and arrange patient information for Pathologist.
• Prepare body for autopsy, photograph, identify, inventory belongings, and document injuries.
• Assist in dissection and weighing of organs.
• Collect and label toxicology/laboratory specimens as requested.
• Prepare post-autopsy body for release to funeral home and clean morgue afterward.
• Secure personal belongings and evidence as directed.
• Maintain professional demeanor when dealing with traumatic cases.
