Zusammenfassung

Danbury Hospital is seeking a contracted Diener to assist pathologists and residents in performing autopsies. The role includes body preparation, instrument readiness, and maintaining the autopsy suite to ensure clean and safe procedures.

Responsibilities include verifying names, documenting movements, external examination, incisions, organ removal, and specimen labeling. The candidate will support the prosector and ensure proper storage of samples and equipment.

Qualifikationen

• General understanding of human anatomy.
• License/Certification: CT or NYS License preferred.
• Ability to perform and assist autopsies and maintain the autopsy suite.

Aufgaben

• Prepare autopsy suite and instruments; verify patient name and MRN; document movements in morgue log; conduct external examination and measurements.
• Perform incisions and remove thoracic and abdominal contents per procedures; remove skull and brain as needed.
• Remove and weigh organs; collect toxicology samples as requested; label and store specimens properly.
• Clean and restock autopsy area and instruments; maintain autopsy suite; participate in overall body preparation for funeral services.
