Job summary

Confidential defense technology company in Clarksburg, MD is offering a SkillBridge internship for an Engineering Technician to support development, integration, testing, and maintenance of autonomous vehicle platforms. Interns will fabricate prototype hardware, build cable harnesses, and integrate systems onto vehicle platforms while gaining exposure to the full hardware lifecycle.

Collaborate with engineering teams, learn manufacturing processes, and contribute to high‑technology defense

Qualifications

Must be eligible for a DoD SkillBridge program.
3+ years in automotive or industrial repair.
Experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to distill complexity and fabricate without written procedures.
Strong craftsmanship, organizational skills, and fabrication quality.
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Supporting fabrication of prototype hardware.
Fabricating cable and harness subassemblies.
Providing design feedback to engineering with regard to manufacturability and serviceability.
Helping to review and redline mechanical and electrical drawing packages.
Supporting the development of manufacturing processes and assembly work instructions.
Integrating hardware designs onto vehicle platforms.
Building and installing electrical components.
Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to understand system requirements and deliver quality workmanship.
