Waymo is seeking a motivated software engineering intern to contribute to the Waymo Driver ecosystem. You will work on scheduling algorithms, experiment analysis, and performance benchmarks in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in data structures & algorithms
• Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language (C++, Java, Python)
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and data processing pipelines
• Interest in operating systems concepts and system-level performance
• Academic focus on statistics/data analysis helpful

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to analyze experiment results, document findings, and help integrate the most successful strategies into production
• Prototype scheduling algorithms aimed at smoothing out computational load
• Run benchmarks to analyze speed, throughput and resource efficiency of related systems, and specific implementations
