Job summary

Powerus is hiring a Software Developer I in Charlotte, NC to join the engineering team building ground software, tooling, and services. You will implement features, fix defects, and grow into ownership of a component, working alongside senior engineers with frequent code reviews.

You should have a degree or equivalent experience and proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, C++, Go, or TypeScript. A passion for aviation, robotics, or defense technology is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working proficiency in Python, C++, Go, or TypeScript.
• understanding of version control, testing, and code review practice.
• Genuine interest in aviation, robotics, or defense technology.

Responsibilities

• Implement features and bug fixes across ground software, services, and internal tooling.
• Write unit and integration tests alongside the code they cover.
• Participate in code review, both receiving and giving feedback.
• Debug issues reported from test, field, or production use.
• Contribute to technical documentation for the components you touch.
• Support data pipelines and internal tools used by engineering and operations.
• Grow toward ownership of a defined component or service.
