Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Part-Time Student Worker to join the Safety Strategy & Operations team for a 6-month data-driven project. You will help build a safety risk model, process large driving and simulation datasets, and run empirical experiments to validate results with data.

You should be pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in a quantitative field and have strong Python and data-manipulation skills (SQL/PySpark/Scala). This on-site, vendor-backed contract role pays $30/hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a quantitative degree (Engineering, CS, Stats, Physics or similar).
• Strong Python programming skills and data analysis mindset.
• Solid foundation in statistics, ML, and risk/reliability modeling.

Responsibilities

• Assist designing and iterating on a data-driven safety risk model.
• Maintain dataset management pipelines: curation, labeling, versioning, quality checks.
• Support empirical experiments to show results with data rather than assumptions.
