Job summary

Kodiak Robotics in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Behavior Planning Intern to contribute to our motion planning team. You will work on core decision‑making and planning algorithms for our autonomous trucks, with projects on highway merges, lane changes, and low-speed industrial behavior.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience with a production codebase in C++ and Python, receive mentorship from senior robotics engineers, and have the potential to transition into a full‑time role after the internship

Qualifications

• Ability to solve basic computational geometry problems.
• Strong knowledge of kinematics, linear algebra and calculus.
• Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university.
• Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Solid understanding of motion planning, decision-making and trajectory optimization for autonomous systems.
• Ability to solve basic optimization problems.
• Field(s) of study: CS, EE, ML, AE, ME or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop core decision-making and motion planning algorithms for autonomous trucks.
