Job summary

Neros Technologies in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced leader to head the Autonomy Evaluation, Data & Test team for drone autonomy. You will define metrics, release criteria, and build scalable regression, data ingestion, and hardware-in-the-loop systems to validate autonomy through flight tests.

This role requires 8+ years in robotics/autonomy, strong Python and C++ skills, and proven management of engineers across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years engineering experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or defense autonomy.
• 3+ years managing engineers.
• Experience defining performance metrics and acceptance criteria for autonomy or ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with Python and C++ and CI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the release criteria for autonomy software, including the regression gate and review process for exceptions.
• Define autonomy performance metrics and their semantics and publish coverage and reliability reporting to leadership.
• Build and operate a multi-tier regression system spanning unit tests, simulated replay, and hardware-in-the-loop testing on production hardware.
• Own the autonomy data platform end to end: capture, ingest, normalization, log catalog, and deterministic replay at scale.
• Direct field test and autonomy integration, including instrumented test articles and flight-readiness execution.
• Hire, lead, and develop a team of engineers across software, data, simulation, and hardware test.
