Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks a skilled Autonomy Engineer to design and develop autonomous behaviors for multi-domain vehicles across aerial, ground, underwater, and space domains. You will work on defense systems used by US Government and commercial customers, applying C/C++, ROS/ROS2, MATLAB, and AI-enhanced techniques.

The role requires 3–5 years of software engineering, a Bachelor's in a related field, and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of software engineering experience required.
• Security clearance (Secret) preferred; ability to obtain is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates requirements, proposes solutions, and explores design trades.
• Designs algorithms using modern theory and proven techniques.
• Develops embedded software based on prototype algorithms.
• Analyzes designs to demonstrate performance and functionality.
• Develops and executes software tests to verify requirements.
• Communicates with customers and stakeholders to establish requirements and describe deliverables.
