NVIDIA is seeking a Sr Research Scientist for Autonomous Vehicles in Santa Clara, CA. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced AV techniques, publishing impactful research, and collaborating across research and product teams to move innovations toward production systems.

The candidate will contribute to core AV topics, publish in top venues, and help advance safety, reliability, and performance of autonomous driving technologies at scale.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of relevant research experience in vehicle/robot autonomy.
• Strong knowledge of theory and practice of vehicle/robot autonomy, or related area with interest in AVs.
• Track record of research excellence with publications in top conferences/journals and research artifacts like software projects.
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional programming skills in Python; C++ and parallel programming (CUDA).
• Solid understanding of PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing cutting-edge techniques in vehicle autonomy.
• Publish and present original research; speak at conferences and events.
• Collaborate with research teams, internal product teams, and external researchers.
• Transfer and/or open-source developed technology to product groups.
• Collaborate with product teams to transfer results into production systems.
