NVIDIA is seeking top research engineers for the Autonomous Vehicles Research team. Join a collaborative, publish-forward group focused on AI for autonomous driving, including foundation models, multimodal data, and sim-to-real pipelines.

The role blends fundamental research freedom with product collaboration across CUDA, simulation, robotics, and AI product teams, leveraging massive GPU infrastructure and HPC tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of full-time industry experience in large-scale MLOps and AI infrastructure.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing distributed training systems with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Deep familiarity with reinforcement learning algorithms like PPO, SAC, or Q-learning, including hyperparameter tuning.
• Familiarity with policy learning techniques like reward shaping, domain randomization, curriculum learning.
• Deep understanding of GPU acceleration, CUDA programming, and cluster management tools like Kubernetes.

Responsabilités

• Develop large-scale supervised learning and reinforcement learning training frameworks to support multimodal foundation models for AVs on thousands of GPUs.
• Optimize GPU and cluster utilization for training and fine-tuning on massive datasets.
• Implement scalable data loaders and preprocessors for multimodal data (videos, text, sensor data).
• Build and optimize simulation infrastructure (GPU-accelerated simulators) for driving policies at scale.
• Collaborate with researchers to integrate cutting-edge model architectures into scalable pipelines.
• Develop sim-to-real transfer pipelines and deploy to real-world cars with AV product teams.
• Propose scalable solutions that combine LLMs with policy learning.
• Apply reinforcement learning to fine-tune multimodal LLMs.
• Develop robust monitoring and debugging tools for training workflows on large GPU clusters.
