Job summary

Procore Technologies is seeking a Security Engineer II to join the Security Engineering team in Austin, TX. You will build autonomous security agents that replace manual toil and protect our platform, data, and users.

You’ll own end-to-end agent tooling, contribute to eval suites, and collaborate with Engineering, IT, GRC, and Security Operations, with on-call duties. This role is based at the Austin, TX office and starts immediately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years in a hands-on technical security or infrastructure engineering role.
• Proficiency in Python or Go beyond scripting with tests, code review, and CI.
• Experience building or meaningfully contributing to at least one AI-powered tool or agent.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SCIM), cloud and infrastructure security.
• Hands-on experience with AWS security services and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Awareness of AI-specific risks including prompt injection and data leakage.
• Willingness to treat prompts and agent logic as version-controlled, testable artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Build & Ship Security Agents: Implement and deploy security agents end to end.
• Extend the Tool Surface: Write and maintain tools agents call in Python or Go, with tests and proper failure modes.
• Evaluate & Harden: Build eval suites to measure agent accuracy and prevent regressions.
• Automate Security Toil: Turn recurring manual work into autonomous or semi-automated remediation workflows.
• Implement Agent Identity Hygiene: Use short-lived credentials and ensure auditability of actions.
• Operate the Fleet: Monitor production agents for cost, latency, and false positives; fix root causes in code.
• Autonomous Asset & SBOM Workflows: Contribute to agentic pipelines for asset discovery and SBOM generation.
• Review, Document & Support: Review agent logic, document for reuse, and provide on-call support.
