Poseidon Aerospace is hiring a Flight Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize autonomous flight software for our full‑size cargo aircraft. You will work on GNC algorithms, real‑time decision making, and integration with sensors and avionics to enable mission execution and safe autonomous operations.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, HITL testing, and collaboration with aerospace and field teams to push aviation technology forward.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with autonomous aircraft flight software.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust for real‑time embedded systems.
• Experience using middleware like ROS for autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize autonomous flight software including GNC for aircraft.
• Implement real‑time decision‑making systems under dynamic flight conditions.
• Integrate software with onboard sensors, actuators, and avionics for mission execution.
• Develop software for flight planning, collision avoidance, precision landing, and mission management.
• Test and validate software using simulations, HITL setups, and real‑world flight tests.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with aerospace Engineers, avionics engineers, and field teams for robust integration.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize flight software in simulation and field tests.
