Job summary

Anduril Industries is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II for the Autonomous Airpower manufacturing team in Costa Mesa, CA. You will own portions of the manufacturing value chain for autonomous aircraft hardware, refining processes to hit production targets and quality standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, design tooling and fixtures, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams while applying Lean/Six Sigma to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex hardware production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent hands‑on manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for tooling and fixture design.
• Experience managing manufacturing engineering projects on production floors.
• Experience authoring work instructions and quality documentation for hardware builds.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the manufacturing value chain for assigned aircraft subsystems or assemblies from development through work instruction writing and production support.
• Implement and refine processes to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and reduce cycle times.
• Author and maintain work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, and BOMs.
• Use CAD to design tooling, fixtures, and production layouts.
• Provide DFM/DFA feedback to design engineering with actionable alternatives.
• Lead projects, coordinate with vendors and teams, and track progress to leadership.
• Troubleshoot production issues in real time and minimize downtime.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve specific production areas.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices.
