Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking an Air Vehicle Design Engineer to develop the overall design of next-generation unmanned aircraft and missile systems from initial concept through detailed CAD definition.

You'll perform first-order vehicle sizing, translate mission requirements into viable vehicle concepts, and craft high-quality CAD models while collaborating with aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, manufacturing and flight test teams throughout the design cycle.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or similar with internship or design experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing aircraft, missiles, or unmanned systems.
• Experience performing conceptual vehicle sizing or preliminary aircraft/missile design.
• Proficiency with NX, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent CAD software.
• Understanding of aircraft or missile geometry, packaging, and multidisciplinary design tradeoffs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall vehicle configurations from mission and system requirements.
• Perform first-order sizing and layout studies to establish feasible vehicle architectures.
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, including outer mold line and major assemblies.
• Evaluate design trades in aerodynamics, weight, manufacturability, and integration.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, guidance, manufacturing, and flight-test teams.
• Produce engineering drawings and support prototype fabrication.
• Present technical recommendations and design trade studies to engineering leadership.
