Job summary

Trucking People is seeking a 20-ton heavy machinery operator in Sunol, CA to join our autonomous vehicle testing team. You will safely operate articulated mining trucks, perform inspections, and support testing activities with engineering collaboration.

The role requires at least 5 years of heavy equipment experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass multiple screening steps including a road test and a DOT medical.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of verifiable heavy machinery operating experience.
• Clean driving record required.
• Must pass background check, road test, DOT physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate 20-ton articulated mining trucks and heavy fleet equipment.
• Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Support autonomous vehicle testing and evaluation activities.
• Provide written and verbal feedback to engineering teams on vehicle performance and safety systems.
• Maintain strict safety and regulatory compliance standards; assist with hardware/software testing.
• Travel up to 5%–50% as needed to support testing operations.
