Avis Budget Group in Portland, OR is hiring an Automotive Technician to perform repairs and routine maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles. You will complete oil changes, tire and brake work, and assist senior technicians. Must have ASE certification(s) and at least 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal supervision.
• Complete oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs and other routine maintenance or warranty-related repairs.
• Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as skills develop.
• Maintain vehicle reliability and safety to reduce downtime and ensure vehicles are ready when customers need them.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles with minimal technical supervision.
• Complete oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake work, suspension repairs, and other routine maintenance or warranty‑related repairs based on experience level.
• Support senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as skills develop.
• Maintain vehicle reliability and safety to reduce downtime and ensure vehicles are ready when customers need them, contributing to a positive customer experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular, on‑site presence and cannot be performed remotely
• Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
