Job summary

CarMax in Orlando is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles in a climate-controlled shop. You’ll handle engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical work while documenting findings and ensuring CarMax quality standards.

Responsibilities include multi-point inspections, component repairs, and collaboration with teammates to meet production goals. ASE certifications are preferred; valid driver’s license required for this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate experience in automotive repair including engines, brakes, suspension or HVAC.
• Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and compliance standards.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to lift, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE Certifications in Steering/Suspension, Brakes, Heating/Cooling, Electrical, Engine Repair, Drive Train and Axles, Engine Performance, and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle are preferred where allowed by state law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax standards.
• Perform automotive services from basic maintenance to complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Complete multi-point inspections and document findings and completed work.
• Repair or replace vehicle components to support reconditioning efforts.
• Assist with alignment, suspension, and performance diagnostics as skills grow.
• Uphold CarMax values and collaborate with teammates to meet production goals.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
