Job summary

Midas Auto Experts in New Jersey is seeking an Intermediate Level Technician to work independently and with peers in our full-service facility. You will conduct inspections, diagnose and repair systems, perform routine maintenance, and support advanced diagnostic work as needed.

Candidates should have automotive basics knowledge, shop equipment familiarity, and a valid driver’s license. ASE certification is preferred but not required; a collaborative, quality-driven mindset is encouraged.

Qualifications

• ASE certification is preferred but not required.
• Technician should have knowledge of automotive basics.
• Familiarity with shop equipment and tools is expected.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting with some assistance.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely manner.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals and work orders.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough visual safety and courtesy inspections.
• Test specific parts and systems to ensure proper operation.
• Mounting, balancing and rotating tires.
• Replace batteries and bulbs, belts and hoses.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brakes, belts, tires, water pumps.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Tackle complex jobs with some assistance such as diagnostics.
• Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs are complete.
• Maintain and clean shop areas; learn and grow as a technician.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
