Job summary

CMA's Valley Honda in Staunton, VA is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles using modern diagnostic tools. You will work on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems while mentoring teammates and contributing to a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (vocational school preferred).
• ASE certification, or the drive to earn it within your first year.
• At least 2 years as an automotive technician.
• Mastery of diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of modern vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conquer mechanical and electrical issues with diagnostic skills on a diverse range of vehicles.
• Handle repairs and replacements—engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, A/C, and more.
• Keep vehicles in peak condition with routine maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, battery replacements.
• Carry out detailed inspections, spotting potential problems before they become issues.
• Document work clearly and accurately to ensure nothing is missed.
• Communicate openly with advisors, teammates, and customers to build trust.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional workspace.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest tech and industry trends.
• Mentor junior technicians and help the team grow stronger.
