Job summary

CarMax is looking for a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet high safety and quality standards. You will work with a capable team, gaining hands-on experience on both domestic and foreign cars, while upholding customer satisfaction and CarMax EH&S rules.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and hands-on problem solving in a climate-controlled facility. A valid driver’s license and ASE certifications in relevant areas are preferred, with a $5,000 sign-on

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ASE certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4) and Brakes (A5).
• ASE certifications in HVAC (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Drive Train (A3), Engine Performance (A8), Transaxle (A2).
