Job summary

CarMax Tinley Park is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to CarMax standards. You’ll work in a clean, climate-controlled environment, handling everything from engines to suspensions, with ongoing opportunities to grow your technical skills and career.

Responsibilities include multi-point inspections, documentation of work, and collaboration with teammates to meet production goals while upholding EH&S requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and clear verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax standards.
• Perform services from basic maintenance to complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Document findings and completed work following established processes.
• Repair or replace vehicle components to support reconditioning efforts.
• Assist with alignment, suspension, and performance diagnostics as skills grow.
• Uphold CarMax values and collaborate with teammates to meet production goals.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, safe work area.
