The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle upfitting activities on automobiles, vans, buses, and fleet vehicles. Technicians are assigned responsibilities based on skill level, experience, certifications, and demonstrated competency. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant vehicle operation while maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity, and customer service.
Technician I employees perform routine maintenance and basic repairs while developing diagnostic and technical skills under the guidance of senior technicians.
Technician II employees perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and moderate‑level repairs with minimal supervision. They are expected to independently complete most routine service and repair work
Technician III employees perform the most advanced diagnostics, repairs, and fleet service work. They serve as technical resources for complex repairs and specialized vehicle systems.
