Job summary

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a motivated Passenger Service Technician to join our team in Roanoke. You will perform preventive maintenance, tire services, and mechanical repairs while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced shop. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and your own tools.

• Experience with passenger service tires is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform passenger tire installation, repair, rotation, balancing, and replacement.
• Inspect and test vehicles to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Complete preventive maintenance services (oil changes, filters, tune-ups).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions.
• Verify serviceability via test drives and system adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with state vehicle safety, emissions requirements.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Keep shop equipment operational and report repair needs; maintain inventory as needed.
• Stay current on industry knowledge through training and publications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform passenger tire installation, repair, rotation, balancing, and replacement
• Inspect and test vehicles to identify maintenance and repair needs
• Complete preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions
• Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
• Ensure compliance with state vehicle safety, engine, and emissions requirements
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Keep shop equipment operational by performing routine maintenance and reporting repair needs
• Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with ordering as needed
• Stay current on industry knowledge through training and technical publications
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Other Duties

Additional responsibilities may arise as part of the role. Candidates should be flexible and prepared to take on new challenges as needed.

Education
